Magnetic fastener
Stitch markers
Size H (5 mm) crochet hook (or size required for gauge)
Gauge:
10 sc = 4”
Special Stitches:
Sc decrease (sc dec): (Insert hook in next st and draw up a lp) twice, YO and draw through all 3 lps on hook: sc dec made.
Instructions:
Starting at bottom, ch 17.
Rnd 1 (wrong side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 14 chs, 3 sc in last ch; working in free lps on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 14 chs, 2 sc in next ch: 34 sc. Do not join. Place stitch marker in last sc and move stitch marker up to last sc in each rnd.
Rnd 2: Sc in next sc and in each sc around: 34 sc.
Rep Rnd 2 until piece measures about 4”.
Last Rnd: *(Sc in next 4 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) 2 times, sc in next 3 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc; rep from * once: 28 sc; join with sl st in beg sc. Finish off; weave in ends.
Snap Fastener Base (make 2):
Ch 5.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across: 4 sc; ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 through 4: Sc in next sc and in each sc across: 4 sc; ch 1, turn. At end of Row 4, do not ch 1. Finish off.
Attach one half of magnetic fastener to center of each Snap Fastener Base. Turn purse right side out. Sew one Snap Fastener Base to inside top center on each side of bag.
Handle:
Sew handle to inside top edges of purse.
